Advanced Open Water Diver
PADI or NAUI

During your entry level Scuba course, you learned how to safely conduct dives in an environment with conditions similar to those in which you trained. By participating in an Advanced Open Water Diver course, you can greatly expand the conditons in which you're qualified to dive. Additionally you'll have the opportunity to improve your diving skills while enjoying the added comfort of professional supervision.

During your Advanced course you'll explore exciting activities such as deep diving, night diving, wreck diving, underwater photography, and more!


The PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course is designed to introduce novice and intermediate level divers to five exciting specialty diving areas. Students choose their five areas, read the applicable material from the textbook and complete the knowledge reviews. The instructor then covers the material in a short classroom session, or during pre-and post-dive briefings for each training dive.

The NAUI Advanced Scuba Diver course is comprised of supervised experiences, designed to be taught entirely in an open water setting. Students receive training in underwater navigation, low visibility diving, and deep diving, as well as three additional elective dives selected from the following: search and recovery, boat diving, wreck diving, underwater photography, and more!

Estimated classroom time: 8 hours (conducted on site)
Required training dives: 6
