Invasive Lionfish
Native to the Pacific Ocean, lionfish are progressively invading the north-western Atlantic and the Caribbean, where they have no natural predators. Learn what action is needed to control the lionfish population and, during two scuba dives, learn practical ways to safely and humanely capture and euthanize these fish.
Price: $250.00 - Includes Instruction, Training Materials, and Certification. A personal pole spear is required and available for purchase at the Dive Center. Boat Dives are required for an additional fee.

Prerequisites
To take this course, you must be:
- A PADI Advanced Open Water Diver (or qualifying certification from another training organization) with a minimum of 30 logged dives.
- A PADI Enriched Air Nitrox Diver (or qualifying certification from another training organization)
- At least 18 years old
- Experienced with offshore dives on North Carolina's deeper shipwrecks (depths greater than 70 feet)
The Scuba Gear You Use
You use all the basic scuba gear, including your dive computer, a lionfish spear, lionfish containment systems, and other specialty gear.

- Weekend or weekday scheduling formats, year-round
*Students must provide their own personal items, including a mask, fins, snorkel, booties, gloves, spear, regulator, BCD, tanks, and pole spear. We have rentals available for the regulator, BCD, dive computer, wetsuit, and tanks.
