A reality in diving is that most awe-inspiring underwater vistas reside in relatively deep water. Olympus Dive Center believes that one can best manage the risks inherent in deeper diving by taking a Deep Diving specialty course. Deep diving conducted safely allows you to increase the diversity of your diving experiences with historic shipwrecks, breathtaking wall dives, cenotes, blue holes, and unique marine life encounters.
Exploring our deeper, historic shipwrecks. It’s exhilarating!
Our PADI Deep Diver course will prepare you for the challenges of deep diving. Although not a Technical Diving Course, the safety procedures and techniques will increase your comfort zone to the maximum recreational diving limit of 130 feet. Risk management, narcosis awareness, gas consumption, gear configuration, redundancy, task loading and emergency procedures are covered in great detail and stressed throughout the course.
To take this course, you must be:
You use all the basic scuba gear including a dive computer, a dive light, a DSMB, plus other specialty gear.
PADI's Deep Diver Manual. You'll use it as a guidebook to improve your diving skills and prepare for new experiences and adventures.
*Students must provide their own personal items including mask, fins, snorkel, boots, gloves, dive computer and the Scuba unit. We have rentals available for the Scuba unit, dive computer, wetsuit, tanks and weights.
*Boat dives are required for an additional fee. Your experience level will determine which trips you need to complete the course. If you book this course On-line you will be contacted by our staff to determine and reserve the appropriate trips.
Many shipwrecks are often found in deeper water. That’s why the PADI Deep Diver course is a natural companion to the PADI Enriched Air Nitrox or Wreck Diver courses. Sometimes you can take these specialties concurrently.
