The PADI Wreck Diver Course with OLYMPUS DIVE CENTER

It is no secret that the waters off the Crystal coast offer world class wreck diving. Close your eyes and picture this: warm blue water, outstanding visibility, magnificent marine life both large and small schooling around an enormous shipwreck who's tragedy is as fascinating as it is historic. For the competent Wreck diver, this is a reality. Learn from the pros at Olympus Dive Center who live this reality every day. We will show you how to dive a shipwreck safely and maximize the enjoyment of your exploration.

The Fun Part

When you choose the PADI Wreck Diver course you will dive with instructors who have years of experience on all types of shipwrecks in all kinds of conditions across the world.  

What You Learn

  • Techniques for safely exploring shipwrecks in various states of decay
  • How to research and learn the background of your favorite wrecks
  • Streamlining and equipment configuration considerations
  • Shipwreck conservation
  • Using a reel and a dive light for limited penetrations
  • Experience in planning, organizing and making at least four wreck dives under the supervision of your PADI Instructor.

Prerequisites

To take this course, you must be:

  • A PADI Advanced Open Water Diver (or qualifying certification from another training organization)
  • 15 years old

The Scuba Gear You Use

You use all the basic scuba gear including a dive computer, a dive light, a reel and other specialty gear.

The Learning Materials You Need

PADI's Wreck Diver Manual. You'll use it as a guidebook to improve your diving skills and prepare for new experiences and adventures.

Price: $250/person

  • Class size is limited to 4 students
  • Weekend or weekday scheduling formats, year around

 *Students must provide their own personal items including mask, fins, snorkel, boots, gloves, dive computer, lights, reels and the Scuba unit. We have rentals available for the Scuba unit, dive computer, wetsuit, tanks and weights.

*Boat dives are required for an additional fee. Your experience level will determine which trips you need to complete the course.  If you book this course On-line you will be contacted by our staff to determine and reserve the appropriate trips.

Your Next Adventure

Many shipwrecks are often found in deeper water. That’s why the PADI Wreck Diver course is a natural companion to the PADI Deep Diver course. Sometimes you can take these two specialties concurrently. Nitrox usage during the Wreck diver course is required. A Nitrox diver course can be taught in conjunction with Wreck diver.
