Sand Tiger Sharks (Carcharias taurus) are a common sight on the wrecks of North Carolina. Although commonly seen in large numbers off the coast of North Carolina, the Sand Tiger Shark is listed as Vulnerable on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species.
This course teaches divers about the Sand Tiger Shark and how we as divers can help Sand Tiger Shark research along the Atlantic coast.

You use all the basic scuba gear including your dive computer, Spot A Shark slate, U/W imaging system, and other specialty gear.

*Students must provide their own personal items including mask, fins, snorkel, booties, gloves, regulator, BCD, and tanks. We have rentals available for the regulator, BCD, dive computer, wetsuit, and tanks.
**Students must provide their own UW camera system and memory card. We have UW camera systems for rent.
*Boat dives are required for an additional fee. If you book this course On-line you will be contacted by our staff to reserve the appropriate dive trip(s).
